Liverpool Women’s Strictly 2024 lit up the Titanic Hotel with an unforgettable evening of dance and generosity. The event held at the end of November raised a phenomenal £75,000, completing the Bereavement Suite Appeal and ensuring vital support for families facing the devastating loss of a baby.

Over 480 guests arrived on the night to support 14 contestants battling it out to win the judges and audience vote.

Strictly Dancers 2024

Contestants: Jay Fitzgerald, Simon Krol, Lesley Theadorus, Helen Dunn, Louise Kenny, Gerry Lawlor, Diane Thomas, Donna Kirwan, Sherwin Pagsanjan, Zana Mudrova, Brandon Bosanquet, Mark Entwistle, Lydia Hazledine & David Hutton were a wonderful combination of LWH staff, grateful patients and corporate partners. Who have spent weeks in training with their partnered professional dancers.

A huge congratulations to our winners:  Donna who partnered with prof dancer Helen Maguire were crowned the judges champion. And Diane who partnered with pro dancer Dave Wanless, won over the audience hearts to receive the most votes.

Donna, LWH Employee at the Hewitt Fertility Centre shared “This has been a life-changing experience and I have enjoyed every minute, the cherry on the cake is knowing the funds raised will help so many families through unimaginable heartbreak is incredibly humbling.”

The dancing concluded with a throwback to 1920’s Chicago exquisitely delivered by our Show Dancers, who too spent weeks practicing and fundraising in support of Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

The highlight of the evening wasn’t just the incredible dancing, but the moving story shared by Ashleigh and Craig, whose baby, Oscar, was born sleeping. Their bravery in opening their hearts to share Oscar’s story reminded everyone why this event matters so deeply.

The event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our headline sponsor, max20, and the businesses who attended on the night and our wonderful LWH staff who continue to support this event year on year! Our gratitude extends to everyone who donated, sponsored, voted, or attended, your support was instrumental in making this event a success.

A special thanks to WONGS Jewellers, whose exclusive diamond surprise captivated our guests and raised significant additional funds and Michael Franks Salon, whose talented team worked tirelessly to ensure every dancer looked their best on stage.  The stunning Titanic Hotel provided the perfect backdrop, and their staff went above and beyond to ensure the night was seamless.

Kate Davis, Head of Fundraising, comments “It’s thanks to the generosity of everyone involved—our dancers, sponsors, donors, and guests—that we’ve reached this huge milestone and we can’t thank everyone enough.” As the curtain falls on this year’s event, we’re already looking ahead to Liverpool Women’s Strictly 2025. Exciting new plans are in the works, and we can’t wait to share them—stay tuned!
